Early Treatment

earlyThe American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child receives an orthodontic screening by the age of 7. We offer this complementary screening free of charge.

Even though a child's permanent teeth have not finished erupting at the age of 7, we are able to evaluate the:

  • the relationship of the upper and lower teeth
  • potential for crowding
  • possibility of open bite
  • narrow jaw and cross bite
  • abnormal eruption
  • jaw posturing to bring the teeth in contact

If treatment is indicated due to the presence of any of these issues, we can address any impending problems at the earliest stages before they become more serious.

We will create a personalized treatment plan for your child that will prove to be the most beneficial for their specific case.

Treatment may include removable or fixed appliances to help with crowding and erupting teeth. The appliances can also keep space open for erupting teeth, help with jaw growth and possibly prevent tooth extractions.

This can reduce the overall treatment time in braces.
